Unfortunately, even though there is a plethora of scientific research on practically every topic and / or imaginable question, a lot of it remains either unseen, unread or at best quickly scanned from a relatively small academic community. In times of misinformation, populism and misguided public opinion, scientific research can make a difference and positively impact the actual developments… if people would actually put the effort to access it (it has never been easier) and actually read it! This is where things get difficult… It takes time and is written in a language and stylem which is not enticing to read for those not deeply immersed in the topic or area. By summarising papers and using visually-appealing graphical abstracts, one can get the core questions and findings of a paper in less than 2 minutes. This is why I decided to include the section “Research@Glance”, where I present infographics created by the contents of my own papers (focus on tourism / cruise tourism) and making them available to anyone interested in the questions / issues they address.
